Missed Connections: If you go to Craigslist, there is a “Missed Connections” section where you can find some interesting story lines to inspire your writing.

It was your hair I noticed first, blue, vivid against the sea of beige around you.

I was intrigued.

We were heading for the same train, I watched as you helped an old man carry a suitcase up the stairs, as you stood to let the woman laden with shopping bags take a seat. Your small acts of kindness scream at me against the lonely anonymity of the City.

I’m still intrigued.

It’s been a week but I’ve not forgotten you.

You’ll probably never read this, but if you do, please get in touch. Let me repay your kindness with a coffee.

Authors Note: So…Craigslist is an interesting place! The only thing I’d previously seen of Craigslist were funny videos on YouTube of people reading out Craigslist ads. I finally went on the site and I wasn’t disappointed, there were some…interesting…adverts! For this prompt the thing that stood out were all the missed connections on tube lines, there were lots of titles like Girl at Waterloo Station or Girl by the stairs at Charing Cross. One title stood out because they specified blue hair. Being a teal haired girl myself, I ran with it and this little piece stumbled out. Personally, I think this would make a rather lovely Craigslist posting!
